Welcome to Build Highlights! Here, we take a look at some of the coolest Jeeps, trucks, and 4x4s brought to our shops to get to the next level. Our technicians take pride in their work, and it reflects in how amazing these vehicles turn out!
First up, ORW Corona crafted a sweet GMC Canyon earlier this week. This 2023 model comes in a stylish earthy color and is ready to explore Mother Nature with some choice upgrades. Out back, the boys installed a Body Armor 4x4 truck bed rack . This is the perfect choice for overlanding, as you can see—it now has the right architecture to support an OVS Nomadic roof top tent ! These tents are great for a single or even multiple occupants, and feature tough, rip-resistant materials that stand up to the elements.
The Overland rack also has room for overlanding essentials to mount upon. As seen here, the customer went with a set of Maxtrax recovery boards and Rotopax 2-gallon canisters for fuel and water, ensuring he and his family have supplies and tools to help them make the most of their adventures.
Last but not least, the customer chose a fantastic combo for footwear — Toyo Open Country R/T tires wrapped around 17” Method MR316 wheels . All in all, this GMC sets the bar for mid-size overlanding truck builds!
Next, let’s pop up to our newest location in Sparks, Nevada. Recently, they got their hands on a brand new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and made it live up to its name. This is thanks to a Teraflex CT2 short arm lift kit , which provides improved suspension geometry and raised ground clearance for clearing obstacles. Also, we see a set of Falcon 2.5 shocks , which offer adjustable suspension on all four corners for maximum ride comfort and vehicle performance.
This modification was bolstered by a set of new Falken Wildpeak A/T tires . These tires offer all-terrain, all-weather capability while also balancing good road-driving characteristics. They’re great tires for enthusiasts that drive off-road on the weekends, and around town on the weekdays.
Inside the tires, this customer went for some slick bronze Method wheels . Methods are some of our hottest sellers, and for good reason. Their wheels look incredible and hold up remarkably well in the elements, and can be customized with fun add-ons like center caps and valve stem caps.
We’ll round things out by heading back to SoCal to our San Diego location. It’s another GMC, but bigger! This 2020 GMC 2500HD Sierra is a real black beauty, sporting a CST lift kit that we repaired and aligned properly, restoring its ride comfort and road performance.
Next up, our technicians installed a set of Fabtech upper control arms . This modification is something we like to do for lifted vehicles for a couple of reasons. One, it improves wheel travel as part of a suspension lift. And two, they’re more durable than stock, ensuring better lifespan as the vehicle sees more off-road use and abuse.
We also see the truck using new shoes—20” Fuel Covert D696 wheels in bronze finish paired with 37” Falken Wildpeak R/T tires . This is a great combo for this truck, giving it a militarized feel and backing it up with hybrid tires ideal for hitting the trail and making trips up and down the highway.
