Perfect fit for my 2000 ford ranger 3.0 automatic 2wd. The Allen wrench slot is definitely a convenient feature. I used a pass thru ratchet with a 17 mm socket on the top and a 1/2 socket on the bottom. I had to also use a 24 mm socket on a separate floor jack to push up the shock due to the thick bushings, but it wasn't bad though and I understand why they were engineered to work with the shocks. There is definitely is a subtle, but noticeable difference vs those overly soft Monroe shocks on regular at lower speeds and around curves. On the highway, i feel more confident accelerating while passing. Hopefully as one of the reviews stated, the ride will get better as they are broken in. So far so go, I love them.
