Upon first taking off my factory Ranchos with 154k miles with a truck treated like no other one of my Ranchos was still providing decent shock but drivers side was shot, it felt like air only. But no jack was needed just a 21mm socket and box end 21mm and remove top bolt first then a small pry bar or large screw driver to prevent the shock from dislodging so you can pull the nut off and bolt out the bottom, I left the strap on with top bolt installed first then pushed it in until my pry bar could hold it in the bottom hole to line up then install bottom bolt with nut. Tighten up the top then bottom ( oh and don't forget now is the time to do some rust prevention and flat black paint for surface rust.) The ride was a big difference with stability and plush felt like I was in control again. Next to replace my fronts Struts with some 5100Bilstein
