My jeep came with dealership upgrades which included 35"" tires. While it did have a carrier relocation bracket for the larger tire, there was no support for the tailgate or hinges. As a result, the slightest bump in the road, and the tire would jump or shake. It also caused squeaking from the tailgate.Mopar makes a reinforcement bracket that strengthens the tailgate... but that solution does nothing to address sag, or stress on the hinge pins. This is very important, since the stock hinges are fine for stock spare tire, they're very inadequate for larger tires and extra weight. The Mopar solution also cost over $200 more. This bracket not only reinforces the tailgate, but also replaces the stock hinges which adds an incredible improvement in stability to the tailgate. It stops rattle, shake, and any flexing, and keeps things quiet too. A friend who has the Mopar solution will be removing that and installing one of these as well. The instructions are simple and there are also videos online with step by steps that make the install super easy. Can be installed in about 20-30 minutes, but I recommend you take your time and go slow. You won't be sorry.
