Expensive Recovery Ropes are all the rage these days, after placements and being featured on youtube channels like matt's off road recovery. But for those of us who aren't making a living doing recoveries and just venture into the backcountry in our Jeeps or 4x4s, snatch recoveries are not something we perform all that often.And a strap fills the bill. This ARB strap is durable, lightweight, and affordable. It'll take up less space in your kit than a comparable recovery rope, and costs considerably less; but it'll still let you pull a buddy out of a stuck situation in a jam.

It's ARB.. of course the quality is high. I have it, hope to never need it, but if I do.. ;)

Although this is priced higher compared to other brands that look and probably perform the same don't be fooled by the ""product of the USA."" the packaging clearly says MADE IN CHINA. so if you find a cheaper brand that has all the same specs, chances are you'll get a better bang for your buck. Not a U.S. MADE PRODUCT.

You get what you pay for. ARB recovery straps are the ones you want to have when you're stuck in the trail. We tried other brands (ALL-Top, Gear America and Rhino) and we could not replicate the kinetic/dynamic effect that is needed to get you out while keeping both cars damage at minimum.Maybe if going to use for towing could be good, but is not kinetic at all!

The items I ordered arrived quickly. They look great but I haven't had the opportunity to use them yet. I'm going to leave 5-Stars for now.

We live where there is a braided glacial fed river full of silt, and an annual snowfall of around 8 feet. There's no desert here, so don't ask me about sand, but I have multiple recoveries a year in snow/ice and river silt conditions. I have used cheaper alternatives to recovery gear, and they just do not work as well. With a shovel, Maxtrax, an ARB snatch strap, hitchlink, and a couple of shackles, we've recovered everything that's gotten stuck to date. The ARB snatchstrap is not a tow rope, it loads like a bungee cord and ""springs"" the other vehicle out. It is just long enough to position the recovery vehicle in any scenario we've come across, including on two different sides of a tributary. The ARB strap coils tight enough to fit in a ""small-ish"" kit bag with the other recovery kit items except the Maxtrax and shovel. I bought one for the Side by Side, one for the Adventure Van, and one for the Overland/Work/Rescue/Daily-driver Truck. Learn how to use it properly to avoid damage to one of your vehicles, and it is an idespensable piece of gear. Clean it after use and let it dry, and inspect it when it's out. My original one (about 3 years old) has some fraying on the nylon but is still very usable. If the Maxtrax don't work, this gets pulled out right away. During plowing season, I just leave one hooked up to the plow to pull it out of the snowbanks over and over again. Buy one. Buy two, and don't look back.

I've had this strap for 5-6 years now and have used it a dozen times. I trust this trap more than anything else when it comes to me recovery gear. Today I was called to help a friend who was stuck in a mud pit he had a strap set up with metal hooks at each end. The strap was too shot, too small and those metal parts on each end made me nervous. I used my ARB strap instead, and it was like spreading warm butter on toast, easy does it and they came right out. This is like every pull I've done. No big jerk, and all the safety built in the strap. I am going to buy one for my friend too.

I bought a compessor from ARB and I needed parts to fit it. The tech support was awful. IAfter three-days of calling and getting nowhere, I called Summit Racing I spoke to them and within 10 minutes it was all solved they knew exactly what was needed. The technical support at ARB is the worst.Ree

We have an off grid camp at the coast. We've used this strap to yank a truck attached to an RV with no tires 100' away to get it out of the road, yanked a buried truck with boat on a boat trailer out of the sand with our other front wheel drive only truck (no drive shaft), and several other more simple jobs. It doesn't show any wear whatsoever. If you haven't used a snatch strap like this for vehicle recovery you're in for a treat, they're a game changer.

THINGS THAT REALLY IMPRESSED ME:1) They fit the strap to the weight of the vehicle in order to maximize your liklihood of success. Not one size fits all. They recommend choosing one of their 3 straps based upon the weight of the vehicle. More specifically 2-3 times the vehicle weight. (17,500 lbs, 24,000 lbs & 33,000 lbs). Why is this so critically important? Because if you buy a strap that is way to hefty, you will not get the kenetic energy stretch that is the whole point of using a kenetic energy ""statch"" strap. Moreover, a strap that is ""over rated"" for the vehicle weight will not achieve significant strech and this put enormous strain on the attachment points increasing the likelyhood of catastrophic failure. Conversely, if the strap is too light for the vehicle weight, you will get lots of strech, but it might break before the vehicle breaks free.2) It comes with a user manual with rather detailed instructions and practical precautions on actual use.The fact that ARB offers 3 different straps for different vehicle weights (as opposed to one size fits all) shows that they really understand how kenetic energy recovery (snatching) works. They are not just some company trying to sell you a single, one size fits all product.Its worth every penny.

ARB makes 1st quality recovery gear. I bought this strap for my Tacoma and it works perfectly.
